Latest update: April 2026

Over the past two years, thanks to continued support from our donors and volunteers, we have successfully run XR724’s No.1 (lower) engine on around six occasions. Each run allowed us to identify and resolve minor issues, steadily improving reliability.

Today, the No.1 engine is performing reliably and has been run at several public events—creating memorable experiences for visitors and supporters alike.

Over the winter months, attention has turned to the No.2 (upper) engine. Using the same careful, step‑by‑step approach, work is progressing well, with the aim of demonstrating this engine to the public in the near future.

Our annual Open Day will take place on 5th September, and we look forward to welcoming supporters once again. Ticket details will be announced as soon as they are available.
